Are you an Eco-minded cook? Maybe you’re concerned about using aluminum food storage containers and their impact on our environment. Did you know that aluminum can be recycled over and over again without breaking down or compromising the quality of the metal? I had no idea until I was introduced to Eco-Foil™.
Eco-Foil™, is made by Handi-Foil, the #1 aluminum container manufacturer in the U.S. All of their products are made in the United States and from green materials. The foil pans, the plastic lids, and the wire handles used in Eco-Foil™ are all made from 100% recycled material. After hearing about this, I was excited to test some of their pans for myself.
I was sent a set of 13×9 Cake Pans, Square Cake Pans and Roaster/Baker Pans. Right away I was impressed with the quality. Structurally they are very strong. It was not what I was expecting for something that was recycled.
I was equally impressed after cooking with them. They held up through the oven, no problem. I even used one of the big cake pans to store a cut up honeydew melon. It held the whole thing and didn’t give. These pans are so awesome, you can even cook on the grill with them if you wanted to!!!
After using them, I could think of a ton of scenarios where Eco-Foil™ Pans would come in handy. I love that they have lids. These are great if you want to bake a cake or even a hot meal and bring them to a party, picnic, church, potluck. The lids make for easy transport and storage afterwards. After you are done using it, you can simply throw it in your recycle bin. How easy!
Some of you may be wondering if these are safe to store food in. The answer is yes! All of their recycled aluminum gets melted down at an astronomically high temperature of 1200 degrees Fahrenheit, which burns off any impurities, and results in aluminum that has virtually the exact same physical properties as aluminum made from ore.
Eco-Foil™ has definitely won me over and when presented with a choice at the store, I would most certainly choose it over a non-recyclable pan.
Buy it: Eco-Foil™ is available in the baking aisle at major grocery and mass market retailers that carry Handi-Foil products.
Win it: Four of you will win a set of Eco-Foil™ pans!
