Are you working on putting together the perfect costume for the kids or even  for yourself? Have you considered Goodwill? Buying and even renting costumes for Halloween can be expensive. Goodwill stores offer gently used costumes and clothing at affordable prices. All you need is a little imagination to build a unique costume.

Goodwill’s donors give them everything from homemade costumes to costumes never worn. They also have an assortment of wigs, hats and gloves. Goodwill has new items too, such as face paint for the clown to the vampire of the household. Halloween items available also include décor from yesterday to yester year.

Check out this fun video made by one of our local Goodwill establishments. You just might find yourself feeling inspired after watching it.

When costume hunting at Goodwill, it is important to keep these things in mind:

  • If you don’t find something you like on the first try, come back to the store and check out the new inventory. New items come in every day. Throughout Goodwill’s 50 stores in NW and Central OR and SW WA – 400,000 pounds of all things Halloween has been donated.
  • Halloween shopping at Goodwill is an investment in your community. The revenues fund job training programs and support services to help people find jobs, earn a paycheck, and support their families and communities.
  • Shopping at Goodwill for Halloween is a great way to stretch your budget and be charitable at the same time. The revenues raised from the sale of donations helps open the door to free job services for the neighbors struggling for work.
  • Donating gently used items you no longer use is a form of charity that anyone can participate in. Once you have worn your costume, you can donate it back to Goodwill.
  • Shopping at Goodwill for Halloween is a great way to spend quality time with your children. Let kids’ imaginations run wild and find what they need at Goodwill. Families can start making it a tradition — something to associate with Halloween every year.
  • Buying Halloween costumes and décor at Goodwill is eco-friendly. Reusing clothing is better for the environment and prevents it from heading to a landfill.

Are you ready to go out and find the perfect costume? Head to your local Goodwill and find something uniquely you today.
