When we bought our home a few years ago, it was definitely not in what you would call magazine quality condition. It’s an old house from the 60’s, and it still has a lot of the original features such as the light fixtures, wood paneling, etc. Updating it has been a slow-going process. It all takes time, money and energy, you know?

This year, our goal is to update our one and a half bathrooms. The half bath isn’t bad, as we had already done a few things in there to improve it, but it needed a new faucet badly. The one we had was kind of unsightly. Our vanity still needs to go and I will be picking a new color for the walls as well.

When Pfister offered the Breckenridge Single Control Centerset Bath Faucet for review, I couldn’t say no. I really love the nice clean and simple look it has. We got ours in the Spot Defense Brushed Nickel finish. This is great because the Pfister Pforever Warranty covers finish and function for life. You can see how much of a difference it made on our sink with just that one change and a few decorative items.

The faucet can be used with or without the deck plate, if your sink only has one hole. Our sink has three holes, so we did use the deck plate.

The first thing I noticed when I turned it on is that the water flow from this faucet is a little less than our last one and I personally like it better this way. I like the smooth, gentle stream rather than the gushing deluge that was coming out of our other one. When you turned it on it was splashing quite a bit, which is not so great when you have kids. This one doesn’t do that.

The other thing I noticed is that there isn’t a hot or cold label on the faucet. You just lift up and to the right for cold and up and to the left for hot. Pretty easy to figure out.

The other cool thing that I wasn’t expecting is that the drain plug was included. It’s a cool pop up and down plug. There are no levers to pull and it’s in the same Spot Defense Brushed Nickel finish. Pretty spiffy.

Overall I think this is a great little faucet and I’m really happy with it. You can get yours here.
