I am a firm believer that a good pair of kids shoes can be hard to find. Maybe my kids are particularly rough on their shoes, but they really have a knack of blowing out most of their shoes in a matter of weeks. That’s why I was so happy when I first discovered Umi Children’s Shoes last year. When I received the shoes we were heading to California to visit family and have some other Spring Break adventures, so it was the perfect time for the kids to get a new pair of shoes. One thing I hadn’t really thought about though, was having the kids “break them in” first. You’re going to say I’m crazy, but the first time my son wore his Umi Shane shoes was to Disneyland. We’re talking a full day’s worth of trekking around and standing in lines, of course. Eek!
In most cases this would have been a terrible mistake, but with Umi, it actually was ok. His feet were sore by the end of the night, but all of us had sore feet. I was so worried about his little feet all day, but when I put him to bed that night he had not so much as one blister on his foot. Amazing!
Not only that, but two days later, when we went to Legoland, he wore them again without a problem.
My daughter got to try the Karolina shoe in pink multi. She also wore hers to Disneyland, but had worn them for a couple of days before going. She also walked all day and had no blisters.
I love how cute these shoes are. They are also so practical for spring and summer. She can wear them with just about anything.
The thing I love the most about Umi is that they don’t compromise style for sturdiness or comfort. Both pairs of shoes look great, the kids are comfy and the shoes last. That is a winning combination in my book.
